Did someone say free RC car?
Huge shoutout to the family who walked away with our weekend giveaway! We hooked them up with a brand-new, ready-to-run RC dump truck—complete with a battery, charger, and remote—just for stopping by and checking out the setup at Baytown Trade Days. Congratulations on the big win!
Baytown Trade Days Heatwave Market 8/22/26
Even though our home base is firmly planted out in Katy, Texas, we were stoked to pack up the trailer well before sunrise and make the long trek across the map to connect with a brand-new crowd. We were invited out to be part of the Heatwave Market event hosted by Baytown Trade Days, and honestly, we couldn’t wait to see what the community had in store for us.
Hitching up the rig and hitting the highway early is all part of the routine, but this trip felt extra special. Beyond just bringing the mobile crawling experience to a new venue, we were proud to partner up with the event’s mission by bringing along a batch of school supplies to donate to their community drive. Supporting local families and giving back right as the school year kicks off is something we love being a part of.
From a Slow Morning to an Afternoon Rush
If you’ve ever loaded up a mobile course before the sun is fully up, you know how these early mornings go. We rolled in, got the setup locked down, and waited for the gates to open. At first, it was a bit of a strange start. We had plenty of folks wandering by, but many seemed hesitant—some weren’t quite sure about dropping a ticket into our raffle or even stopping to grab info.
Honestly, it had us scratching our heads for a minute, but things completely flipped right around lunchtime. The crowd picked up major momentum, and the big hit of the day was clear: everyone wanted to rent our course, especially to put the SCX30 micro crawlers through their paces. Watching people test out the lines, figure out the obstacles, and get hooked on scale crawling totally turned the energy around. On top of that, we had a few awesome visitors walk away with brand-new vehicles of their own to take the hobby home.
Final Verdict
When all was said and done, it wasn’t a record-breaking, mind-blowing day, but it certainly wasn’t a bad one either. Every event teaches us something new, and connecting with folks out in Baytown who caught the RC bug made the early alarm clock totally worth it. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the trailer, rented a rig, or chatted with us. We love bringing the mobile course out to new places, and we’re already looking forward to the next stop! Check us out on Facebook or Instagram and keep tabs on where we are going next!
